Hatha Yoga is the yoga of balance, (ha) sun and (tha) the moon. It is an holistic form of yoga including physical postures (asanas) and is the yoga of activity, incorporating (vinyasa) flow.
Hatha Yoga is a holistic form of yoga combining physical postures (asanas), breathing (pranayama), poses (mudra), withdrawal of the senses (pratyahara), purification (kriya) and meditation (dhyana), among others which will cultivate a sense of wellbeing: ultimately to a higher state of consciousness (samadhi).
In a Hatha Yoga class you can expect to learn the asanas and how to flow between them helping to strengthen and lengthen your muscles. A balancing practice to strengthen your body and increase flexibility. Learn how to change postural habits and train your body to continuously improve them. Pranayama and meditation will quieten your mind. You will end your practice in relaxation (savasana) which melt away stress and aid healing.
